Authorities investigating a homicide in downtown Augusta

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WFXG) - The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating a homicide in Augusta.

Officials responded to the 1500 block of 15^th Street in reference to a shooting death.

A man was found in the parking lot of a business and had been shot at least one time, according to Coroner Mark Bowen.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene at 8 a.m.  

An autopsy has been scheduled.
