AIKEN, S.C. (WFXG) - An arrest was made in a murder investigation from nearly two months ago.

Monday, the Aiken Department of Public Safety, along with agents with the ATF Rage Task Force and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office arrested Jaquaez Bibbs, 28 of North Augusta.

Bibbs was arrested in Richmond County and charged with Murder and Possession of a weapon during the commission of a Violent Crime. 

On May 6, the Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to Greenwich Drive in reference to a shooting. They found 22-year-old Jalen Jones with multiple gunshot wounds in a shed in the backyard of the home. According to the arrest warrant, Bibbs fired multiple shots at Jones, shooting him multiple times in the upper torso area. The warrant says Jones died from those gunshot wounds.

Bibbs is being held at the Richmond County Detention Center awaiting his extradition hearing.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety says this is an ongoing investigation and more arrests are expected.
